Happy New Year! We made it to 2026! And we are ‘officially’ in a #1 year-a time of new beginnings and ideas. For the collective and individually, 2026 will be influenced by health, beauty, family and home, especially Mother Nature. For many, it is a year where we learn about consequences for the first time or in a new manner. Do we take responsibility? Do we walk our talk? What is well versus not well in our life? It’s a year that encompasses how experiences, people, places, anything really, serves us. Expect some things to come to light for the first time or seeing these things in a new way. It will be a bold year. For now, let’s focus on the month ahead. For more about January’s energies, please read on.

Ahh…new year, new beginnings. A chance for fresh starts yet not just limited to the first month of the year but for most of 2026. We are planting seeds and as a collective what are we introducing to the world that takes shape over the coming years? This month there is an emphasis on listening and paying attention to our heart. Whatever new beginnings we want, it is connected to what we love or would love to have. What we care about truly matters in the way we go about with new projects and plans. How much heart do we want to pour into our dreams that are near and dear to us? Listen. Pause. Take your time as patience pays off for those that take it slow and gently.
Trust is the major theme with the number 2 and a hard one to master. Often, when it comes to trust it connects to listening. Do you listen to what others say whether you know them well or not? Or do you listen to your inner voice? What do you give credence to when it comes to following guidance or believe in? It takes practice to know what to trust and whom, something that requires patience and grace. Give yourself the space to be gentle and kind when it comes to trusting and knowing what is best.
There is so much that can be said about each number in numerology, yet I focus on what comes through the strongest and the main energy that shows up is one of being nurturing. Be it with the self, others or with ideas, how we take care matters with its growth. We learn that loving and nurturing the parts of ourselves, our lives effects our environment in more ways than one. What are you wanting to nurture?
The spirit animal is the bunny. Although it is young and doesn’t have the life experience of a rabbit, the meanings will be the same but what stands out is the youthful energy. The bunny showing up in its young stage symbolizes this type of energy will be present in our endeavours and experiences this month. What are we learning for the first time? On another note, some of the more interesting traits that light up with the bunny’s influence are hopping along (this helps if feeling stuck or frozen) and nibble (what are you willing to take little bites at in life?) as these two elements help us try new things. The bunny is part of many bunnies and when it reaches maturity has a strong fertile life span. For those that are looking to expand in some area in their life, take note that it may take anywhere from 6-18 months to show its abundance as this is how long it takes for the bunny to reach adulthood. Sometimes with younglings there is a presence of getting into situations that are not well. Be careful of any rabbit holes you may follow down.
Finally, we come to the card for January and it is the 7 of hearts. It has a presence of taking the easy way and why not? Life is hard enough and we could all use a month of being chill and playful. Even playing with plans, ideas and projects can help with the ease of how things come together. Go with the flow, even if you don’t like to as this is an energy that encompasses being in the present. Intuition plays a role in our daily activities whether we acknowledge this side or not. We feel dreamy and would rather be in a daydream state than focusing on what is real. We are drawn to nature and being in quiet surroundings. With this card, one of the major themes is making peace with the parts of ourselves and lives we don’t love. It may not be where our world is peaceful but embracing and trusting all will be well.
